Twenty-two additional judges of the High Court division of the Supreme Court have been appointed as permanent judges. 

The law ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard today (11 November). 

The 22 judges are Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, Justice Syed Enayet Hossain, Justice Md Mansur Alam, Justice Sayed Jahed Mansur, Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja, Justice Md Jabid Hossain, Justice Mubina Asaf, Justice Kazi Waliul Islam, Justice Aynun Nahar Siddiqua, Justice Md Abdul Mannan, Justice Tamanna Rahman Khalidi, Justice Md Shofiul Alam Mahmood, Justice Md Hamidur Rahman, Justice Nasreen Akter, Justice Shathika Hossain, Justice Syed Mohammed Tazrul Hossain, Justice Md Toufiq Inam, Justice Yousuf Abdullah Suman, Justice Sk Tahsin Ali, Justice Foyej Ahmed, Justice Md Sagir Hossain, and Justice Sikder Mahmudur Razi.

Earlier, on 9 October 2024, following the July Uprising, the president appointed 23 people as additional judges of the High Court.

Among the 23, Justice Debasish Roy Chowdhury, son of BNP leader Nitai Roy Chowdhury, has not been regularised as a permanent judge.

According to Supreme Court administration sources, Justice Debasish Roy has not yet reached the minimum qualifying age of 45 required for a permanent judgeship under the ordinance. 

He will turn 45 in March and will continue serving as an additional judge until the completion of his two-year term.
