Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain yesterday said there is no reason to believe the Indian media's claim that Pakistan-based terrorists are plotting to attack India "using Bangladesh as a launchpad".

"The [Indian] media will try to put the blame on us for any incidents. There is no reason to believe it. No sensible person can believe this," he told reporters at the foreign ministry.

Various Indian media outlets, including the Times of India, referring to a video, reported that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Saifullah Saif has claimed that LeT founder Hafiz Saeed is "actively planning attacks on India through Bangladesh".

On Monday, at least eight people were killed in a car explosion near the Red Fort in the Indian capital, Delhi.

While the cause of the blast has not yet been officially confirmed, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the "conspirators" will be brought to justice.

Meanwhile, a deadly suicide bombing took place outside Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, near court buildings, claiming 12 lives. Terror outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called it "India's state-sponsored terrorism".
