The 2025 edition of Bangladesh Television's (BTV) iconic children's talent hunt programme "Notun Kuri" has successfully concluded, organisers announced.
Thousands of young participants from across the country competed in 12 categories, including dance, music, recitation, comedy, storytelling, and acting. Following regional, divisional, and final rounds, the award ceremony for the top performers will be held on Thursday (November 13), at the Shapla Hall of the Chief adviser's office. Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus will present the awards to the winners.
The event will also be attended by advisers to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and other ministries, along with secretaries and senior secretaries from various government departments.
According to a BTV press release, the winning contestants and their guardians have been requested to report to the BTV Dhaka Centre in Rampura on Wednesday (November 12).
Speaking about the overall arrangement, BTV Director General Mahbubul Alam said, "Notun Kuri is not merely a competition—it is one of the key platforms for nurturing the intellect, creativity, and cultural expression of Bangladesh's children and teenagers. Many renowned artistes and cultural figures began their journey on this stage. This year's award ceremony continues that proud legacy, inspiring a new generation."
He added that the conclusion of the award ceremony will not mark the end of the participants' artistic journey. "We want the children to continue their practice of art and culture. BTV plans to produce regular programmes featuring these talented participants until the next Notun Kuri season. They will have the chance to prove once again why they were among the best. We also plan to launch a special weekend show titled 'Shishu Prohor' where children will participate in various activities. The Notun Kuri awards signify not an end, but the beginning of their true artistic pursuit."
